Jesus Christ, Antichrist and False Prophets Today

Jesus Christ or Antichrist? — Discerning God From Impostors

According to Jesus Christ, multitudes of people and institutions call Him Lord, believe they are following Him, and do good religious works who are deceived, and were never known by Him.
Jesus Christ said:

“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matt. 7:21-23).

The coming Antichrist and False Prophet will nearly deceive the very elect (Matt. 24:24, 2 Th. 2:8-10, Rev. 13:11-15), so it is vital for us to know who are false prophets today.

Do We Love Truth?

Many people are fascinated with the supernatural, and drawn to signs and miracles to provide a quick solution to problems or crises. Inspirational and influential religious leaders abound with fantastic claims, and multitudes follow without understanding the dangers. The New Age movement has spawned greatly increased interest in supernatural phenomena such as extra-sensory perception (ESP), near-death experiences (NDEs), channeling, UFOs, meditation and mysticism. Claims of miracles, magic signs, spiritual healing, faith healing and other supernatural phenomena are growing widely in many different religions and cultures, but are they good or could many be spiritual warfare and signs of the coming Antichrist and False Prophet in disguise, as predicted in the Bible?

We have entered an age where people seldom acknowledge any objective standard of truth, and the majority believes absolute truth does not exist at all. When people do not love truth, they will believe lies, and there will always be convincing political and religious deceivers with good words and speeches to enslave and destroy them. People have often been deceived by charismatic leaders of nations and religious systems on a local scale, but now for the first time in history, today’s world is preparing for the Antichrist and his False Prophet, the ultimate political and religious deceivers, on a global scale.

The Worldwide Financial Crisis, Terrorism, and Global Warming

The worldwide financial crisis, widespread terrorism, and alleged global warming are being used to rapidly turn the world towards a global financial system, a highly surveilled world society, and global control of business. Like charming dictators before him, the Antichrist will confidently promise to solve these complex problems of the day, including the perplexing Middle East conflict, and an increasingly desperate world will believe Him.

Those who will not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Like many rulers of old, the ultimate false Messiah will seem good, peaceful and loving when He first comes to power. He will initially succeed where all others have failed, appearing to solve the world’s problems, and people will rejoice.

Many have wondered if Barack Obama is the Antichrist based on his charisma and Messiah-like reception, but a more important observation may be that Obama’s unique global reception as a Messiah figure reveals the world is fully ready to warmly welcome and eventually worship the genuine false Messiah when he comes.

It will be as in the movie Star Wars — Revenge of the Sith, when Senator Amidala says:

“So this is how liberty dies … with thunderous applause.”

When the Antichrist fully gains political and financial power, he will demand worship upon penalty of death, and people will be enslaved and slaughtered on a global scale like the world has never seen. Jesus Christ indicated that if He did not finally return, that no one would survive (Matt. 24:22, Mark 13:20).

Seeking Signs, Wonders and Miracles — The Path to the Antichrist

Jesus Christ often appealed to His miracles as evidence He was the Messiah and unique Son of God, of the same divine nature as the Father in Heaven (John 10:37-38, 14:6-11). However, to religious rulers who willfully refused to believe Him but demanded miracles, He said:

“An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign.” (Matt. 12:30a).

It has been said that the most effective lie is 99% truth. Spiritual warfare and deception is much more effective using candy-coated, poisonous half-truths and experiences to deceive and slowly destroy people from within rather than outward attacks, since such insidious attacks go largely undetected. The antidote to this deception lies within the Christian Bible, which indicates that miracles will be the greatest form of deception in the last days before the personal return of Christ, and that these miraculous signs will eventually lead many to unwittingly worship the Antichrist, a counterfeit Messiah and coming world ruler.

In addition to global crises mentioned above, the world is being prepared for the Antichrist’s reign by an increasing focus on subjective spiritual experiences instead of objective truth. In the Christian church and other religions, these experiences include miracles and miraculous gifts, seeking after new revelations, signs and wonders, mind-numbing repetitive chants such as contemplative prayer, and mainstream acceptance of the occult in books, movies, TV, and games. These signs will continue to increase in scope and power as the Antichrist’s reign and Christ’s subsequent return approaches.

Political and Religious Cults Today

Most of us know people who believed something that seemed good on the surface, but where the surprise outcome was very harmful. Unfortunately, many good-sounding political and religious leaders are secretly motivated by money and power instead of the well-being of their followers, and use every means available to entice the unwary.

The word antichrist refers to one who is against Jesus Christ, but also to one who is a counterfeit of Christ. Today, we must become spiritually mature enough to discern truth for ourselves, and not blindly trust in political or religious leaders. The spiritual health of us and our families is ultimately most important and is primarily our own responsibility, not our nation, president, school, church, pastor or priest.

Preparing for False Prophets and Spiritual Warfare Now

With no standard of truth, an increasingly desperate world, and powerful enticement of exciting and seemingly good experiences, how can we discern among real miracles of God, supernatural signs and wonders of occult or demonic forces in the name of God, and faked miracles via deceptive illusions of men?

The time to prepare for war is not when you already find yourself in the heat of battle. To know the true Jesus Christ, discern false prophets today, and escape the coming Antichrist, it is essential to recognize spiritual warfare and be ready now. There are many sources of information about miracles from religions and men, but the authoritative source of truth is found in the Bible. To know all about Jesus Christ, Antichrist and false prophets today, be sure to rely on sources that align their beliefs and experiences with God’s standard of truth.
